Sensory-Friendly Day at the Ballpark

“Join the Autism Society of Iowa, ChildServe, and the Iowa Cubs on Sunday, June 7, at 1:08 p.m. for the Sensory-Friendly Game at the Ball Park!

The 2026 Sensory-Friendly Game will provide an environment designed for children, teens and adults with autism or sensory processing disorders in mind. Special programming and activities are planned with modifications, including the mitigation of sounds and motions as much as possible, designated educational areas, calming rooms, directional signage and trained volunteers throughout the stadium. Watch this video from last year to learn more.

New This Year! This spring, ChildServe and the Iowa Cubs took an exciting step in making every game at Principal Park more accessible for families. Baseball fans will now have access to the ChildServe Sensory Room at Principal Park: a sensory-friendly space designed with guidance from ChildServe‘s clinical team. Located on the main concourse, the ChildServe Sensory Room will offer a calming break from the sights and sounds of the stadium. The room features adjustable lighting, tactile activities, and a quiet environment.
