Back to School Bash – Young Women’s Resource Center (ywrc.org)
There will be a Bike Back to School Giveaway where 100 bikes, helmets and locks are given away. It is first come first served and it is intended for children under 10 years old who qualify for free or reduced lunch. It will be held August 7th from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Pioneer Columbus Community Center in Des Moines. Free books and hot dogs are also provided. Please see the attached flyer.
The Des Moines Art Center wants to honor Iowans that have lost a loved one due to COVID-19 in this year’s Day of the Dead celebration. Please join us for a FREE fishing event with local law enforcement.
Those 15 and under that don’t have fishing equipment will receive a free rod and reel and starter tackle box. (Numbers are limited)
Children are encouraged to attend with anyone 16 and older; anyone 16 and older who are fishing will require a valid fishing license.
Hotdogs, chips, and water will be provided for all in attendance.
