“Join Nate for a fun family activity! Des Moines Street Collective is coming to put on a bike rodeo! From their website: “Bicycle Rodeos highlight safety education in a fun and noncompetitive environment for kids. Run by Collective staff and community volunteers—with occasional assistance from the Des Moines Police Department—kids have the opportunity to learn street safety skills, things to be aware of as a cyclist, the importance of helmet safety, how to feel confident on their bikes, and more. Bike Rodeos also include bike safety checks and maintenance of existing bikes, as well as donations of helmets and locks to those who need them.”

WDM police officer Chelsea Dexter and West Des Moines EMS will also join us to talk about bicycle safety and show off their custom police bikes. Bring (or ride) your bike to the program!

For all ages, but bike riders will get the most out of it. Please register each person attending (children and adults).

This program is meant to be a family event. Please plan on at least one adult attending with children.”
